Engineered Lumber

Today, more than ever, architectural designs incorporate the function and beauty of wide open spaces. These designs create challenges for conventional building materials. For several years we have offered solutions using engineered wood products that can solve these challenges, along with design services tailored to your projects. Today, though our partnership with Weyerhaeuser, we can provide a combination of products and services unmatched by any other supplier in the area.

Weyerhauser has a collection of proven products that includes Trus Joist®, the leading brand in engineered wood products. Through innovative products and creative designs, many of the challenges in today's homes can be greatly simplified with engineered wood products.

  • Stronger: Advanced design utilizes a manufacturing process that uses heat and pressure to create virtually defect-free engineered lumber capable of supporting heavy loads over long spans.
  • Easier To Work With: Every piece is consistently true to size. Utilities, like wire and plumbing, can pass through the web of TJI® joists and TimberStrand® LSL beams for greater clearance and higher ceilings.
  • Environmentally Responsible : Engineered lumber is produced using patented technologies that take a renewable natural resource, trees that are not large or straight enough to be used for dimensional lumber and turn them into extremely efficient, predictable building materials.
  • Always Top Quality: Engineered Lumber resists shrinking, crowning, twisting and warping, which means quieter floors, and fewer callbacks. All Engineered Lumber products are backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Floor systems and structural headers using TJI® Joists and beams of Microllam®, TimberStrand®, or Parallam® offer span, stiffness, and stability that can not be achieved with conventional lumber. Long lengths, in stock up to 40', allow you to install joists that span across bearings without splices, greatly speeding installation. TJI® Joists are in stock in depths of 9 1/2", 11 7/8", and 14", with other depths and various series readily available through our special order program. Microllam® beams from 9 1/2" to 18" deep are also in inventory. All of these features allow us to offer you a product with a recognized brand name and a warranty for your peace of mind, while virtually eliminating product performance related issues.

Floors are not the only area that benefit from engineered lumber products. Tall walls, kitchens, and bathrooms have special needs that conventional lumber frequently can not meet. Zone Framing products from Weyerhaeuser offer engineered wall framing materials that are free of knots and resist warping, bowing, and twisting. This means you get walls that are straight and true so cabinets are easy to install without shimming. The flat stable surface created by using these materials means that there is less chance of tile and grout cracking after tile installation. Zone Framing products are readily available through our special order program.
